The International Table Tennis Federation has appointed Bart Vermoesen as its new event director in charge of strategic event development, stakeholder engagement and overseeing the delivery of ITTF events.
The international federation’s event portfolio includes the World Championships, all World Cups, World Youth Championships, all Para table tennis events, esports table tennis, Masters events and table tennis at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“I am truly excited and highly motivated to contribute to the continued growth and global success of our sport,” said Vermoesen. “While table tennis has evolved significantly in recent years, I strongly believe that our journey is just taking off. This new role feels like a natural continuation of my career path, with all my experiences uniquely preparing me for this next challenge.”

He also served as high performance director, international tournament director and senior event staff at World Table Tennis. Vermoesen was the technical operations manager for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games and event manager for the inaugural WTT China Smash 2024.
“The recruitment process for this position was extensive and thorough, reflecting our commitment to selecting the best candidate to lead our global event portfolio,” said Steve Dainton, ITTF Group chief executive officer. “Bart will lead strategic event development, oversee operational excellence, enhance stakeholder engagement, and work closely with World Table Tennis to ensure strong alignment. His proven track record with high-profile events positions him perfectly to elevate ITTF events to new heights.”
